Anchor Hocking 5 cup bake n store oven proof

Striking fear into my teenage heart was as simple as this:  “Hey, Jessica, grab a container to put this leftover rice dressing in”  NOOOOO! Anything but that! That meant walking around to the side of the counter facing away from the kitchen, opening the cabinet that smelled really old and musty, and sorting through 7351 lids and 6932 bottoms with varying degrees of dust and muck to find two that maybe, just maybe fit together. Oh, it was awful. WHY do you need so many containers? HOW much food are you going to store? WHO is going to eat this? WHEN can I go back to my room and get out of the horrid cabinet? WHY doesn’t this make anyone else crazy?

That left its mark.

As a result this is what I have on hand for food storage. No joke. Six Anchor Hocking clear glass bake and store containers.  Two 2-cup storage containers, two 5-cup storage containers and two 11-cup storage containers. And if they are all occupied then we should have been eating leftovers and not cooking anyway. So there.

And if we are bringing food to friends we use Ziploc bags.

But maybe, next time we are visiting my dad, I’ll have my 4 year old and 6 year old go into the cabinet. Just so they know how lucky they are.
